FREDERICK THOMAS HUME, FASLA

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Mr. Hume is a native of coastal Southern California. Since 1986 he and his wife have lived in Laguna Beach where they raised their family and where they have been active in the community.

He graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 1976, where he studied Architecture and Landscape Architecture.  He also interned with several architectural firms throughout his college years. 

He has held principal, vice president positions with several prominent multidisciplinary design firms, completing projects in the United States, Mexico and Japan.  He was also an adjunct faculty member at UCLA and Rancho Santiago College.

In 1996, Mr. Hume founded his own firm in Laguna Beach, CA.  FREDERICK THOMAS HUME provides professional Landscape Architecture, Planning and Design services for public and private clients. Projects include:

  • Private Homes, Estates & Multi-family Apartment and Condominium Projects
  • Planned Residential & Resort Communities
  • Commercial and Institutional Projects
  • Recreation and Themed Attractions
  • Stewardship of Natural and Cultural Resources

Mr. Hume has served his community and his profession in a variety of leadership capacities.
